Threes Class Ratio: 2:15

Children must be 3 years old by September 1st to enter this program.

This class is designed to help children master the essential skills they need to develop a positive self-image and exhibit continued emotional, social and academic growth. Spiritual growth through mitzvot, Shabbat and the celebration of Jewish holidays are introduced.

At this level, children become engaged learners and we utilize circle time to explore the calendar, sing songs, listen to and share stories, and make a plan for their day. Three year olds are introduced to numbers and counting, days of the week, months of the year, weather and patterning and key experiences focusing on language and literacy, creative representation, social and emotional development, representation, classification, seriation (comparing attributes, ordering sets, etc.), time, and space. Other areas of emphasis include using scissors properly, holding utensils, tracing, and sorting and matching shapes.

The three year olds are exposed to the letters in the alphabet and begin to recognize them in words they see in the classroom and the world around them.
